Meeting minutes PCOS Committee 12/7/06.

11/30 meeting was canceled due to severe weather conditions.

12/7 meeting called to order 7:40pm, George Flanagan presiding, at Calvary Lutheran Church, Cindy Cone hosting.

Attendees: George Flanagan, Cindy Cone, Nick Kennedy, Tom Carlisle and Warren Vosler. Steve Walton joined meeting by telephone from Louisiana.

Cindy opened meeting with prayer.

First order of business was to elect committee chairman for year 2007. Cindy moved, Warren seconded, that Steve Walton be approved as committee chair for the coming year (2007). Motion passed.

*Cindy will be meeting with other faith groups on Dec. 15 to discuss Chaplain training.

*Chaplain/ chaplain Aide training to held Jan. 6, 2007 at Council office.

*Camp Chaplain training to be determined later.

*National Camp School scheduled for May 26, 2007 in KC. (Session lasts three days-

Sat thru Tues noon)

*Melvin Krohne leaving committee.

Steve joined meeting via telephone- presented topics of discussion with Russ Munyan.

Concerning Naish- Need funding or else change program. Russ asked to have until end of year to try finding funds.

Options-

Other faith groups take second chaplain position.

$150 stipend per week each Chaplain.

Chaplain not needed Scout second session- camp to be entirely LDS units.

Asking current chaplains to investigate obtaining financial support from their respective churches.

Reduce salary to $300 per week- 150 PCOS, 150 BSA. Politics at Bartle forcing reduction in Naish salary.

Need training for faith partners.

God & Country doing well. Now have sub account under PCOS at council office. Currently 130 participants.

Budget- only adjusted in budget was $60 expenditure for training to find funding.

Mext meeting Jan 25^th at Colonial Pres at 95^th and Wornall. Steve Walton hosting.
